Through the blogger community, I witnessed an incredible display of support and connection between people who have never met. The excellent Mugwump of Mugwump Chronicles shared a bit more about herself, and the response was overwhelmingly warm, respectful, and accepting. It was as if the readers finally got to meet the blogger, and everyone was happy to do so.
It's remarkable how bloggers let people into their lives and their thoughts by writing them down and making them public. There is a certain danger in letting yourself be vulnerable, but the rewards can be much greater than the risks. While many Mugwump readers have never met, there is a camaraderie among those who appreciate good humor, good writing, and good horses. It's a bit awe-inspiring to think of the connections that we can make without ever meeting face-to-face.
